Greetings of Peace and Prosperity from Migrant Cinema Trust.
Our primary purpose is to nurture, educate and promote the creative and artistic side of migrants who will contribute positively to New Zealand society. We are presently finalizing the production of a documentary focusing on ethnic dances. This is targeted for a premiere night during the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development in 21 May 2011.
The creative team is made up of key people who successfully worked on the cultural and beauty pageant night of the 2008 Filipino Labour Weekend at the world-class Mystery Creek Convention Centre. Collectively we have more than 25 years of events management and media production experience.
In this light, we would like to invite your community to be our partner through a segment in the documentary. Please choose from the following dance categories: courtship, planting, harvesting, spiritual offering, and mourning. It should be from 3-5 minutes, in full costume, and music to be provided by your organization. We will also conduct a short video interview with your choreographer and/or someone who is knowledgeable with the dance segment.
We would enjoy discussing with you this fantastic opportunity to showcase your culture through music and dance. Thank you for your kind attention and we look forward to hearing from you in this respect.
Best regards,
Rene Molina
