This email serve as a reminder that application for Wintec Ethnic Community Scholarship will close in two weeks - 19th September 2012
The Wintec Ethnic Community Scholarship was established in 2010 to provide a learning opportunity and to strengthen Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) connection and support for the permanent residents of the Waikato Ethnic community, who by reason of economic or personal circumstances might not otherwise pursue further full-time study at Wintec in 2013.
The criteria for eligibility are that applicants must be:
i. Either New Zealand citizens or have permanent residency.
ii. Currently living within the Waikato region.
iii. Nominated by an ethnic community group. The predominant groups are: Chinese, Indian, Pasifika, Somalia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Korean, Congolese, Tamil, Indonesian and other community groups that have been identified by the Wintec Engagement Manager. Waikato Secondary Schools will also be able to put forward one nomination each.
iv. Applicant must have demonstrated capability through prior learning, or be succeeding in or have successfully completed a programme(s) of study.
v. Eligible to enrol full time in a mainstream course or programme in Semester One, 2013 at Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec).
vi. Not previously enrolled at Wintec in a mainstream course or programme.
